DURATION OF PROGRAMME AND MODE OF
STUDY
The programme is for duration of two semesters (one academic session).
Mode of study is face to face at the Rivers State University Science and Technology,
Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants for admission into the Pre-degree Programme are expected to
have a minimum of five ‘O’ Level Credits at one or two sittings including
English Language; credits in Mathematics and three other relevant Science
subjects in the SSCE/GCE organized by WAEC and NECO.
Applicants for Basic Medicine are expected to have the required five ‘O’
Level Credits at one sitting.
Candidates MUST write the 2016/2017 JAMB/UTME with relevant subject
combination to any programme and MUST obtain the minimum UTME approved cut-off
point.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Candidates are to visit the RSUST website www.ust.edu.ng and follow the
link for Application for 2016/2017 Pre-degree programmes
Application Forms are to be completed online after payment of
application fee of N15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) only. A candidate who is offered
admission will be expected to bring his/her SSCE/GCE certificates/result slips
and other relevant credentials during registration.
Closing date for application is Friday 2nd November, 2016

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Holders of
WASC, SSCE, NECO, or GCE O/L with five (5) relevant credit level passes must
include English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings and who must
in addition, satisfy the Departmental requirements are eligible to apply.
Prospective
candidates are also advised in their own interest to obtain information guide on
departmental entry requirements from the Secretary, Centre for Continuing Education
(CCE). Candidates with higher qualifications such as NCE (Credit Level Pass), OND/ND
(Upper Credit Level Classification) or HND are eligible for direct entry admissions
or placement on Advanced Standing, provided that such candidates also satisfy
the general requirement for admission.
Method of Application:
(i) Log
onto the University Website www.ust.edu.ng and
make e-payment of Five Thousand Naira only (N5, 000.00) for the form on-line by
using Interswitch, Verve enabled cards.
(ii) Complete
admission form online and also upload data (WAEC or NECO Results) on -line.
(iii) The
closing date for the Admission is Friday, 29th July 2016
